Enjoy this story from my new book: Untold Stories from a Chicago Police Officer…

There’s a story about two Chicago Police Officers patrolling the lakefront on a very warm and sunny afternoon. Stretching their legs while walking along the shore, they became engaged in conversation with a few bikini-clad vixens in a boat sailing along the shore.  After a few minutes of polite conversation and some harmless flirting, the officers were soon climbing down the ladder alongside the ‘rocks’ and into the waiting boat. Off they went with their newly found girlfriends. Skipping across the waters of Lake Michigan and presumably into a blissful relationship, the two fine young Chicago Police Officers left their squad car on shore along with common sense and responsibility. Hours later, these two worn-out officers were returned to shore, and with a wave and a wink, their new loves drove off into the sunset. A police officer’s job is not always about catching the bad guy. Sometimes, whether you like it or not, you must do some community service.
