Book sales have been very good and the responses have been outstanding. My UPS driver stopped at my house and shouted to me that the book was great. I love when people enjoy my stories.
The book is finally available in soft and hard cover on line. I had to rewrite the book to satisfy the legal people. I am now know as Murphy. I also included thirty more stories in the revised edition. I hope you enjoy every story.
Hi ! Sgt Casy I wrote a long story of my book and the problems I had with two publishers and a lot of money. My book was reviewed by 33 people, I had to purchase and book for each person. Xlibris Publishing, published the book around Nov 2012 costs $6,800 plus they published the book with about 40 present of mistakes, out of order and duplicate stories. I saw it on Amazon. Nothing I cold do, I called a couple of Attorney’s but nothing. I cancelled my contract and re-edited my book adding more stories. Then I hired Outskirts Press $4,800 and plus. How ever Outskirts Press, changed the cover making it very attractive. Changing the title in large white lettering , History of Street Cops with my stars etc. I had bought 40 books (new revised) and mailed them to people to review the book and send their reviews to book stores . i.e. Barnes and Noble Amazon would not take the old first book off the advertising section, by Xlibris Publishing. Outskirts Press wants more money to send the book to the stories I would appreciate it if you would give me some pointers
I worked Fillmore, then after a shoot out I was transferred to 0
I recently visited Tim Flannigan twice this summer at his shop. My dad was a mechanic for the Chicago Police cars. He worked at Lawrence & Hamlin for many years until they opened the new shop at Belmont/Western”old Riverview”.Before he retired in 1981 he helped get ready older squad cars for some movie called “the Blues Brothers”. I plan to read your book. Good luck, Larry.
Hello Bryan. I apologize for not getting back to you. My son started this blog and I don’t know how to use it properly. I’m doing great. I actually found religion and went ahead and got my Masters from Lewis U. I retired from CPD. I teach at Wright College. Life is good. I hope all is well with you. Stay safe my friend. And, it was great hearing from you.
Larry. Tonight I m in Nelson N Z and how I came across this blog while ckecking my IPhone I ve no idea…..but suddenly I m 30 yrs younger and working with you in Albany Park beat 1731…I ll have to get the book! TH
Terri, you will enjoy the stories. Get the book from the blog, its cheaper than Amazon and Barnes and Noble. I donate 2 dollars to the Police memorial Foundation for every book sold through the blog. If you don’t enjoy the book, I will buy it back from you. Stay safe and enjoy retirement.

Larry, I really enjoyed your book. This book tells what hard and dangerous work policemen do everyday. I wish more people would read what really happens on a policemens beat. Thanks for writing such a interesting book.
Thanks for the kind words Paula. The book was meant to entertain and educate. Please pass the word about the book. By the way, for every book I sell, I donate a portion of the sales to the Chicago Police Memorial Foundation. So far I have sent them more than one thousand dollars.
Hi! I recently purchased this for my father who respectfully served the CPD for 35+ years and I bought this for his birthday. I didn’t see any shipping options just a fee of roughly $4 to ship. Will I get this within 2 weeks? Thanks so much!
I am sorry I didn’t see your post until now. I don’t see your name on my list so I’m guessing you ordered the book through another venue. I hope your father enjoyed the memories. If you have any questions please direct them to me at LarryCasey17.Aol.com
I’m really enjoying your stories. Thanks for all your service. I grew up in Burnham. 154th & Sibley. Dolton Il. I’m retired early from St Louis P.D. from injuries sustained in fight with a real turd. Amazing how much of these idiots all act the same across the Country.
Hi Dan, I just filled your order and have an address of 1300 W Altgeld St. Apt 118G. Chi, Ill, 60614. It will ship Monday. If this is correct, do nothing. If you need to change this, please let me know. Thank you for your purchase. Enjoy my thirty years of memories.
As the daughter and sister of Chicago Police Officers, I throughly enjoyed your tales of the street. My dad spent 32 years in 18 and my brother is currently on the job. I recalled many similar stories being told by my Dad exactly as you wrote them. You’re a gifted author and stand up man. God bless and enjoy your well-deserved pension.
Thank you so much for those kind words. I enjoyed my thirty years on CPD and I am thoroughly enjoying my pension. Thanks again for contacting me. You made my day.
Happy New Year to you and yours. Stay safe.
Larry Casey.
